A different Friday...

Hello!
Usually on Fridays we are giving away a stamp and show you what you might make with that stamp... Not today though...
Today we are challenging you.

We'd like you to rummage around the sketches that can be found on this blog, either if you use our sketch book (link on top of the page) or if you want to find one on your own by browsing through the posts. Use one of the sketches and make something (does NOT have to be christmas themed). Of course we would like you to use our stamps as well. We are offering a small digi freebie just in case you haven't gotten any of our stamps yet, but of course there are plenty to choose from in the shop...

This is the freebie that we are offering for a limited time only:
(Edit: Since the challenge is now over, he's no longer available as a digi freebie.)
He is called Vilgot and he's also available in rubber right here!

To recap:
Create a new project
Use one of our sketches
Use (at least) one of our stamps
Blog your project, linking back to us
Come back here and leave us a comment before midnight Dec 31st!
It would also be great if you would join our blog as a follower if you haven't already. For every fifty new followers we are giving one random follower a gift certificate! As I am writing this we are only 2 followers away from a draw!!!
And what will the prize be?
How about a gift certificate for Stämpelkällan Stamps for 500 SEK!!!
A random winner will be drawn Jan 1st, and will be presented Sunday evening.

We hope that many of you will participate. Good luck everyone!!! :)

Advent Calendar

Zig Zag Christmas card

Hi there! Still time to make this year's final x-mas cards!? ;-)...I love this cute santa (Jul -Tomte med lykta och käpp) who's so useful and fun to colour! This time I made a kind of zig zag fold card with plastic and put the greeting (X-Text: God jul och gott nytt år) on top adhered with "glossy accents".

A Merry, merry {and creative} Christmas to All of You!
/Guest DT Cattiegirl

Advent Calendar

Three days 'til Chrismas...

Yep! And finally we have a bit of snow here. Last year the first snow fell in the beginning of November and didn't go away until late March. This year we haven't even seen the shadow of a snowflake unless it's been used on a project!!! But now, finally, it look as if we will get a white christmas.

These projects were done quite a while ago... The first one is a small box I made for a gift certificate. It's about 7x7 cm, and the card is then, obviously, slightly smaller.

I have used two stamps from Stämpelkällan, "Santa on bauble (J95)" and "Grankvist med hängande hjärtan/liten (J27a)".

The card below was real quick to make, no colouring involved at all! I only used leftover pieces of DP for the little squares, a perfect way to get rid of those little pieces that are too big to throw away, but too small to use... These little sqares was cut at 2,2 cm and mounted on a 10x10 cm white sqare. The background is ordinary white, smooth cardstock, normally used for albums. I embossed it using Cuttlebug's snowflake embossingfolder, and then distressed the edges a bit with ink.

The stamp I've used (the star) is one of my absolute favourite christmas stamps from Stämpelkällan, and you can find it here!

I will be back friday with a little extra something, so I won't wish you a Merry Christmas just yet. Until then, take care! :)

Christmas wreath

A few weeks ago our project of the week was to make christmas wreaths. My mum fell ill however, and my wreath was never published because of that. Well, life happens...

I thought I'd show you what I did though...
I made a paper wreath, using twisted newspaper sheets as a base, then covering it with thin strips of DP. It's not very big, and it's not very... round, but it's got a certain charm as well. The stamp I've used is one of our Christmas sentiments; X-Text: God jul och gott nytt år, stående med hjärtan (J15). Then I used loads of snowflakes, and I was planning on adding a few stamps behind the snowflakes as background, but I never got around to that. I might add them for next year... And glitter. It definitly needs more glitter! :)

Advent Calendar

Day three, and another stamp has made it's appearance in our advent calendar image... Find it in the shop and make sure to note the article number!

Have a nice wednesday everyone!!! :)

Tuesday Tip - Selfmade Paper Buttons

Hello,

today it is my turn to show you the Tuesday- Tip.

And I would show you selfmade Paper- Buttons with Stamps or Punches.

At the picture below you can see what I need to do my buttons.

- Cardstock or Heavy Weight Paper

- Rubberstamps for the Buttons (Mushrooms [little], [big]; little feet and snowstars)

- Ink Pad

- Glue

- Crystal Lacquer or Utee for 3D

- scissors or cutter

- thread

1. Stamp the motif you need on the Cardstock, for 1Button 1x for 2Buttons 2x etc.

2. Cut out your motif ( I colored the first one).

3. Then glue the first one on the next piece of paper.

my uncolored version *lol* glue on the paper.

4. Cut the paper around your first motif .

Do this 3 or 4 times. You can use very well your remaining pieces.

for the little gras I'll take the cutter

and after 2 time gluing, I punch the little buttonholes.

Then ....glue, ....cut, ....glue, ....cut and take your Crystal Lacquer on the first motif.

Close up on the lacquerd button.

The same procedure by the punches.

1. Punch 3 or 4 pieces/ button.

Glue...., glue...., glue ;o)

punch the buttonholes ....

take the Crystal Lacquer on ....

and the individuell buttons are ready for your coming project

I wish you all a wonderful and joyfull Christmastime.
